Explore, enjoy and protect the planet
National Sierra Club » Delta Chapter Sierra Club » Earl's Pearls

Environmentalists are often accused of being sour, dour, without humor and a generally grouchy lot. Well if the Delta Chapter's resident jester is any indication, then that characterization is very far from the truth. As long as there are folks like Earl Higgins around, we have nothing to worry about.

Earl's Pearls is a fairly regular feature of the Delta Sierran newsletter. And it has been running for a long time. As you can see below, we have many gaps in our Earl's Pearls archive. We now call on all you packrats out there who have old Delta Sierrans that we don't. Please send copies (NOT originals as they cannot be returned) of any Earl's Pearls columns we are missing to:

or send them via email.

Scavenger hunts can be fun.

FOR OUR FAMILIES, FOR OUR FUTURE!

The Delta Chapter is 3,000 of your neighbors supporting the work of the Sierra Club in Louisiana. We advance the cause of protecting Louisiana's environment in a variety of ways, including lobbying the state legislature in Baton Rouge, sponsoring a Mercury Public Education Campaign, raising public awareness about climate change, and working to keep the Atchafalaya Basin, America's greatest river swamp, wet and wild. In addition, we encourage our members to get outside and enjoy our beautiful planet.

The Sierra Club's members and supporters are more than 1.3 million of your friends and neighbors. Inspired by nature, we work together to protect our communities and the planet. The Club is America's oldest, largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization.
